Mammoth Ski Vacation- Jan 20-23

Up on the mountain, helmets and all, safety first!

Snowstorm on the last day, you can see Jeff on the far left near the truck
trying to put the chains on so we could drive home!

We went to Mammoth for a ski vacation for a few days.  It was really fun and we enjoyed ourselves.  Jeff is a really good skier and I do my best to keep up!  My doctor said I could go and ski as long as I didn't fall or do any double black diamonds.  I didn't fall for 2 days.  Then, on the last day with all the fresh snow, I had a couple of falls.  The good news is that it didn't hurt because there was so much snow to break the fall on.  The bad new is, the next day, I could tell I fell and my neck was sore for days.  The vacation was about 4 years to the day from when we go engaged at Mammoth.  We went to the spot on the mountain where Jeff proposed to remember that fun day.  It's crazy to think that it seemed like yesterday we got engaged and now four years later, 2 houses, 1 baby, 2nd pregnancy and a lot of fun later, here we are!  RyRy was with his grandparents while we were gone and he did great.  He kissed the phone every time we called and he was a good boy for them.

Big Brother

We couldn't keep the secret any longer (5 days is too hard for the Lohmann's!)  We decided to go out to dinner with my parents at Don Cucos.  So we enlisted Ryan too help us tell them the good news.  Right after we got there we took Ryan's jacket off and said, "Look at the cute shirt we just bought Ryan."  My Mom thought the monkey was cute but didn't read the text.  My Dad didn't notice the monkey and read the text.  Moments later, there were two shocked grandparents realizing that all of our lives are going to change!  Of course, Ryan's totally clueless, but in about 9 months his life is about to change too!  We are all very excited.  First Doctor's appointment is January 29th, until then, I am just assuming everything is going along fine!

He's a pretty happy little guy!

Ryan in a Cage

This is the fence we bought to keep Ryan safe at the beach.  There is a highway on the other side of the motor home.  The only way to contain him is this child fence.  He wasn't too thrilled at first, but as you can see as long as his toys are near he's generally pretty happy.

Pop Pop

Pop Pop and Ryan are buddies.  Pop Pop is teaching Ryan about basketball, Nascar, football and the other sports that Daddy isn't in to.  Pop Pop is a great babysitter and Ryan loves to spend time with him.  If it wasn't for Pop Pop I would never get to go to yoga!  He babysat Ryan for a few weeks after his baby sitter's house burned down.

Love the Beach

Last weekend we went to the beach with Gram Gram and Pop Pop.  Ryan had so much fun playing on the beach.  He ran with the dogs, chased birds and splashed in the water.  He is such a California boy.  He loved the fresh air and driving in his car.  He learned how to push his car too.  You wouldn't have known it was January by the weather.  It was around 75, clear and gorgeous.  Ryan ate fish for the first time and loved Clam Chowder soup.  We had a lot of fun and it was nice for Mommy to relax a little.  I kept the secret all weekend that I was pregnant!  We found out the night before we left and wanted to wait to tell my parents when Jeff was there.  We aren't so good at secrets and could never wait 12 weeks to tell!

Sand feels really funny.
